Manchester United target Sergio Ramos has travelled to Australia on the pre-season tour with his Real Madrid team-mates.

The 29-year-old centre-half is believed to be keen to leave the Bernabeu after 10 years in the Spanish capital, with Old Trafford said to be his destination of choice.

United made a bid of £28.6m on June 30 according to Sky sources, but, for now, Ramos appears to be part of Real's plans for the new La Liga campaign.

Despite the uncertainty over the future of Ramos, the defender has been included in the squad for the Australian tour, where Madrid will play Roma and Manchester City in the International Champions Cup.

Rafa Benitez's side will then head to China where they will go up against Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Former Man Utd superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez are not in Madrid's squad, while new boy Danilo and Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard have been chosen.

Forward Jese Rodriguez tweeted a picture of himself alongside Ramos with the caption: "Heading to Australia to continue training hard!"

Last week when asked how negotiations were going, Ramos told Canal Cuatro :"I am not negotiating with anyone."

He was subsequently asked if he would therefore be staying with Benitez's team, to which he replied: "All is very well."

Ramos has made 313 league appearance for Los Blancos since joining in 2005, scoring 40 goals during which time the club have won three La Liga titles as well as scoring in the final as they won their 10th European Cup in 2014.
