Spain international Daniel Carvajal has signed a five-year contract extension with Real Madrid.
The 23-year-old's new deal will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 30, 2020.
Carvajal came up through the ranks at Real Madrid but was sold to Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 after failing to make an appearance for Real’s first team.
The defender enjoyed an excellent season in the Bundesliga in 2012/13, prompting Real to take up their option to buy back the player the following summer.
Carvajal was a fixture in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting line-up over the past two seasons but faces competition for his place next season from incoming FC Porto right-back Danilo.
The Spanish giants completed the signing of the Brazilian international for £23m in April on a six-year deal.
