Slovenia captain Bostjan Cesar insists his side will not let their poor record against England faze them as they prepare to meet the Three Lions again in a European Championship qualifier.

The teams go head to head in Ljubljana on Sunday with Roy Hodgson's side having won all three previous meetings with their hosts.

A brace from Danny Welbeck and a penalty from Wayne Rooney on his 100th international appearance secured a 3-1 win over Slovenia at Wembley in November and England will be looking to make it six wins out of six in the final Group E qualifier of the season.

The Three Lions also beat Slovenia at the 2010 World Cup and in a friendly the year before, but Cesar does not think that will matter when the teams meet at the Stozice Stadium this time around.

He said: "Sunday is a new game. This is what was. And we are professionals. We have to prepare well for this match - we know what awaits us.

"We know that they are the favourite in the group. They have a lot of good players, players with extra class. We need to look collectively and try to stop it all."

Gary Cahill thinks England have made massive steps this season and wants to extend their unbeaten run in Slovenia on Sunday.

Chievo defender Cesar, who started all three games against England, hopes a capacity crowd of nearly 17,000 will help Slovenia cause a big upset.

"We are delighted the stadium will be full," Cesar said.

"The whole of Slovenia will be with us in the stadium or watching on TV and I promise that we will leave our hearts on the pitch."

The Slovenian Football Association, meanwhile, warned the England fans heading to the match to get there in plenty of time as it will be busy around the stadium due to the Franja cycling marathon, which is taking place in the city this weekend.

"The organisers warn fans to come to the stadium at least an hour before the match," a statement on the Slovenian FA's website read.

"The Franja cycling marathon will take place in Ljubljana at the same time."
