Juventus forward Carlos Tevez will have to sit out tonight's Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Fiorentina.
The Argentina international has picked up a thigh injury and will not be risked, possibly with an eye towards next week’s Champions League quarter-final against Monaco.
A Juventus statement explained that Tevez had left Florence on Tuesday due to "discomfort felt from flexor muscle fatigue in his right thigh".
Juventus were already facing a tough task after a Mohamed Salah double earned Fiorentina a 2-1 victory in the first leg in Turin.
And Massimiliano Allegri’s men will find mounting a comeback in Florence even more difficult without Tevez, who has performed brilliantly for the runaway Serie A leaders this season.
The 31-year-old has scored 17 goals in 27 league appearances and is the top scorer in the league.
