Jack Collison open to joining MK Dons for start of next season

NORWICH, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 09: Jack Collison of West Ham United in action during the Barclays Premier League match between Norwich City and West Ham Unit

Former West Ham midfielder Jack Collison has told Sky Sports News HQ that he would be open to a move to MK Dons.

Collison made more than 100 appearances for the Hammers after coming up through the academy but his contract was not renewed at the end of the 2013/14 season.

He was also released by Ipswich in December after struggling with injury and not playing for Mick McCarthy’s side.

But, after taking time out of the game to recover fully from injury, Collison says he is ready to return and issued a come-and-get me plea to MK Dons, who he has been linked to.

“The rumour of MK Dons is quite a nice one because they are right on my doorstep and hopefully they will be playing Championship football next year,” he said.

“Karl Robinson has done a fantastic job and if you are looking for a midfielder then I am here.

“I have had my fair share of injuries, I am at the point in my career where I am experienced enough and know my body well enough to say ‘right I have to take a bit of time out the game’, even though it’s frustrating watching everyone play and thinking I would love to be out there kicking a ball about.

"I took a bit of extra time and I am going to look to go back in at the start of next season.”

Collison has been capped 17 times by Wales after making his debut in 2008.
