Jodie Taylor stars for England women in 3-0 win over Australia in Cyprus Cup final

England women eased past Australia with a 3-0 win in the Cyprus Cup final thanks to a Jodie Taylor hat-trick.

It was an outstanding display by the Portland Thorns striker who the Group B game with her first three England goals on her fifth international appearance.

She notched the first two inside 17 minutes and wrapped her third just before the full-time whistle to help England make it two wins in their opening two games.

The result means their top-spot in the group is assured, with the head-to-head group result deciding which team progresses into the final if two finish level on points.

Katie Chapman will also remember the day fondly with the Chelsea captain returning after last playing for England in 2010 because of childcare issues with the Football Association.

Head Coach Mark Sampson said: "It's great to be into the final again, but we've got Holland in our last group game so first of all we want to win that match.

"We want to go into the final in style, with another good victory under our belt. I'm really pleased for Jodie today, she's been playing well for us and those goals have been coming.

"But I don't want to single out anyone, it was a really efficient team performance and the players can be proud of it."
