Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey believes five more wins will be sufficient to preserve his side's top-flight status for next season.

Ramsey is convinced 37 points will be enough to keep the Loftus Road club in the Premier League, but admitted he does not have the 'luxury' of setting a survival target.

Rangers face Arsenal at home on Wednesday night and Ramsey is backing them to pull off their great escape, despite only sitting outside the relegation zone on goal difference ahead of this week's Premier League action.

"To be honest with you I very rarely look at the table," he said. "Whatever the other teams do will be irrelevant.

We know that if we can get four or five wins that we're going to be there right until the end.

"We know that if we can get four or five wins that we're going to be there right until the end. The target is to win every game that we can.

"I don't think we have the luxury of setting a specific target."

Ramsey has yet to name a captain to replace Joey Barton, who is suspended after being sent off for hitting Hull's Tom Huddlestone in the groin.

"I haven't selected a captain yet," said Ramsey. "I think there's one or two (who can captain the side).

"The senior players have impressed me, but the captaincy in football is not like it is in other sports. It's important to a point but it's about each individual doing their job.

"It's disappointing to lose Joey because he is a wholehearted player who has been involved since we've come on board.

"He's always going to be a big loss but we've got Sandro and maybe Nedum (Onuoha) and (Mauricio) Isla back in contention.

"Joey is a loss but we have to use the squad as best we can and make sure everyone does their part."
