Alan Irvine believes West Brom's 4-0 win over Burnley at The Hawthorns will give his players confidence for tougher games ahead.
The Baggies came into the game on the back of a 1-0 win at Tottenham and a 3-2 Capital One Cup success over Hull in midweek, and they continued their upturn in form by brushing Burnley aside.
Craig Dawson headed in a Chris Brunt corner to open the scoring on the half-hour mark, and Saido Berahino turned in from close range after another Albion set piece just before the interval.
The same player netted a second from a Graham Dorrans pass on 56 minutes, and the Scot wrapped up victory when he converted substitute Cristian Gamboa's cross in the closing stages.
"I was delighted with what I saw out there," Irvine told Sky Sports. "The players were terrific.
"I said a few weeks ago that we were getting closer to where we needed to be and we are now."
Next up for Albion is a tough trip to face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, although the Reds are without a win in their last three Premier League games.
And after the international break, Manchester United arrive at The Hawthorns for a Monday Night Football encounter on October 20.
"We've still got a lot to do," added the former Everton assistant boss.
"We've still got some really tough games to come, but it's been a great week and the players have got their reward for the work they've done."
With Dawson and Dorrans also scoring, the Baggies moved up to 10th in the table on goal difference from Leicester.
Irvine added: "I'm delighted for the players and I said after the Everton game (a 2-0 defeat) there were a lot of really positive things. It was difficult for people to look at it that way because of the result, but I felt we were going the right way.
"I am not going to get carried away. We have had three wins - three very good wins - with very good performances.
"The moment you get carried away in this game it will come back and bite you in the behind. We have to keep working hard and make sure we are well prepared. At the start of the season there were times when I didn't have a full squad to pick from."
