Serie A: Ivan Cordoba departs Inter Milan role by mutual consent

Former Colombian defender Ivan Cordoba has left his backroom staff role as Inter Milan team manager by mutual consent.

Cordoba, who retired in 2012 after 13 years at Inter, made 435 appearances for the club before joining the backroom staff, where he worked under head coach Walter Mazzarri.

The 38-year-old was part of the 2010 Champions League winning side and lifted five Serie A trophies during his time at the San Siro.

An official club statement read: "FC Internazionale and Ivan Cordoba announce that they have mutually agreed to end their working relationship.

"Inter thanks an unforgettable player and a great man. We wish him all the best for the future."
