Striker Chris Martin has become the latest Derby player to sign a new long-term contract with the Sky Bet Championship club.

Martin, last season's leading scorer with 25 goals in all competitions, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the iPro Stadium.

He follows Craig Bryson, Craig Forsyth, Jamie Ward, Will Hughes, Jake Buxton, Mason Bennett and Jeff Hendrick in committing his future to the Rams.

"I think it is fair to say that we are delighted Chris Martin has signed a new four-year deal," said Derby head coach Steve McClaren.

"He is fast establishing himself as a top Championship striker and we're convinced he can continue to develop too.

"He is the focal point of our attack but there is so much more to his game than scoring goals. He brings others into play and he is a real presence for us.

"We're delighted he sees his long-term future at the club."
