Tottenham have announced that Steffen Freund is to take up the role of International Technical Coordinator.

Freund will be responsible for the development of the club's players on loan internationally, supporting the club’s overseas football projects, academy partnerships and identifying future talent.

Freund was part of former manager Tim Sherwood's coaching team but new manager Mauricio Pochettino has reshuffled his coaching team after bringing in assistant manager Jesus Perez, first-team coach Miguel D'Agostino and goalkeeper coach Toni Jiminez from former club Southampton.

The former Germany midfielder, who played 102 games for Spurs between 1998 and 2003, was brought back to White Hart Lane to be assistant head coach to Andre Villas-Boas in July 2012.
