Sky Bet make Tottenham odds-on favourites to sign Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin ahead of north London rivals Arsenal this summer.
Both clubs are reported to be interested in the France international, but Schneiderlin’s stong relationship with former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino, who took over at Spurs in May, places them ahead in the race for his signature.
Sky Bet’s Dale Tempest said: “Over the past 24 hours we’ve taken a consistent run of bets on Schneiderlin to hook up with his old boss at White Hart Lane.
“With competition for a starting berth at the Emirates likely to be higher than at the Lane, we just feel Spurs may beat their rivals on this occasion.
“Arsenal had been the favourites for the Frenchman, but they’re setting their sights a bit higher with Khedira, while they’re also given a 50-50 chance of signing William Carvalho at even-money (1/1).”
Schneiderlin, 24, impressed in his role at the World Cup as France made the quarter-finals but at the same time watched a number of his Southampton teammates follow Pochettino out of the door.
Luke Shaw joined Manchester United while Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana signed for Liverpool, who are continuing to be linked with Saints centre-back Dejan Lovren.
Tottenham have also been linked with Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez.
