Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has refused to dismiss making an approach for Manchester City and England central defender Joleon Lescott during the transfer window.
Lambert insists he continues to have a strong relationship with Lerner despite the club's struggles in the league. He said: "I speak to the chairman all the time. I speak to him every week really. There's never a problem. "He's been great, he really has. He said himself that this was always going to be a really tough year because of the transition."
