FC Groningen have completed the signing of former midfielder Rasmus Lindgren.
The 28-year-old was a free agent after leaving Red Bull Salzburg earlier this year when his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
The Swedish international first joined Groningen in 2005 when he joined from Ajax, he then moved back to Amsterdam in 2008 when they paid £2million for his services.
Now he has agreed a three-and-half-year deal to go back to Groningen.
Director of football Henk Veldmate told Groningen's website: "It's well known we have a young and talented squad, but this group also lack experience.
"Therefore we made contact with Rasmus Lindgren and asked him about his future plans. We talked about our future plans and we don't just see a role on the pitch but also on the training ground and in the dressing room. In all cases a player with added value."
