Addicks striker to arrive on one-month loan

Sky Sports understands Scunthorpe are poised to sign Charlton striker Leon Clarke on loan. Iron boss Alan Knill is keen to bolster his attacking options and has lined up a one-month deal for the former Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers forward. Clarke is out of favour at Charlton and has not featured for the Addicks this season. The 27-year-old only moved to The Valley from Swindon in January as part of a swap deal involving fellow striker Paul Benson. However, he struggled to force his way into Chris Powell's first team, making just one start, and was later sent out on loan to Crawley for the remainder of the season. Scunthorpe are hoping to push through the deal in time to have Clarke available for this weekend's clash with Sheffield United.
