Former Tottenham loanee Bruno Uvini has joined Napoli from Sao Paulo after passing a medical with the Italian club.
The defender won a silver medal with Brazil at the Olympics and that attracted the attention of several European clubs.
But Napoli fought off competition from Serie A rivals Sampdoria and AC Milan to secure the 21-year-old's services.
The former Brazil U20 captain, who has won two caps for the senior side, has signed a five-year contract with the Partenopei.
Uvini told Sao Paulo's official website: "It was a negotiation that had been going on for a while, it's a permanent deal. It was good for me and also for Sao Paulo
"I like challenges and I'm ready for this one. I hope I'll be happy and have a lot of success on this new path. I want to thank all Sao Paulo fans that always supported me and I feel grateful to Sao Paulo."
