Brazil star wants Shakhtar to "respect" his transfer wish

Brazil attacking midfielder Willian claims he has earned the right to leave Shakhtar Donetsk and join Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old wants to leave the Ukrainian club after helping them to three domestic titles and Uefa Cup success since arriving from Corinthians in 2007. Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas reportedly tried to sign him for Chelsea in January, while the Stamford Bridge club also had a £27 million summer bid rejected, according to Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu. Now Villas-Boas is aiming to gazump his former club by agreeing a deal for the player, who admits he is desperate to leave Ukraine. "I have the offer but it's complicated because of the board," said Willian, who has been capped 11 times by Brazil. "Everyone knows that I want to leave. I've been here for five years, I've won many titles, so I hope they respect my will. "I don't regret having come here, but I regret what's been going on with this situation. Chelsea tried to sign me, now Tottenham, so I have to rethink."
