Stoke manager unsure if he will be able to sign winger

Tony Pulis has confirmed he is a fan of Matt Jarvis, but does not know whether he will be able to bring the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger to Stoke City. A number of players have been linked with moves to the Britannia Stadium this summer and Jarvis is one of those in Pulis' thoughts. The 26-year-old has asked to leave Molineux and has also attracted the interest of West Ham United and Fulham, although Wolves are only prepared to sell for the right price. Pulis said: "I like Jarvis. There are a lot of players I like, but whether I can bring them to the football club, that is a different matter. "Jarvis is a very, very good player that we have liked for a long time."

Competition

The Potters have already recruited Michael Kightly from Wolves this summer and Pulis is pleased to have another option on the wing. "He gives us a little bit of competition with (Matthew) Etherington and (Jermaine) Pennant, and last season we didn't have that. "Michael will join another two wide players who, on their day, we think are good players and can create for us."
