Pardew must paint St James' Park picture for Dutchman
Ajax's Vurnon Anita wants to hold talks with Alan Pardew before making a decision on a potential €8million (£6.2million) move to Newcastle United.
Sky Sports earlier on Sunday revealed a fee had been agreed between the two clubs for the versatile Holland international and he is now thinking about his future.
It has been a frustrating summer in the transfer market for Newcastle, who have struggled in their pursuit of Lille and France right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
And so they will be determined to find a positive conclusion to the move for Anita but the 23-year-old wants to hear Pardew's plans at St James' Park before making any commitment.
Anita told Voetbal International: "Now it's up to me. But first I want to talk with the manager of Newcastle United before taking a decision.
"The whole picture has to be right for me."
Anita could have played his last game for Ajax on Sunday when he featured in the 2-2 draw against AZ Alkmaar.
When asked if he had made his final appearance for the Dutch giants, he said: "That could be."
