Martin O'Neill has revealed Sunderland have tabled offers for a 'number of players' amid speculation linking them with Wolves' Steven Fletcher.

Sunderland boss refuses to name individual targets

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has revealed the club have tabled offers for a 'number of players' amid speculation linking them with Wolves striker Steven Fletcher. Reports suggest the Black Cats saw a £10million bid for 25-year-old Fletcher rejected by Wolves earlier this week, while Blackburn duo Steven N'Zonzi and Martin Olsson are also thought to be on O'Neill's wishlist. The manager refused to comment on individual targets but confirmed Sunderland are waiting to hear back from clubs after making several offers. He told the Sunderland Echo: "I can't obviously mention particular players, but we're definitely in the market to try to improve the squad. "It's pretty obvious where we're looking to try to strengthen and of course we're going to be linked with a lot of players. "It's not right to publicise what we're doing at this minute. "But we have made a number of bids for a number of players and we're still waiting to hear back."
