Leeds manager Neil Warnock expects midfielder Michael Brown to prolong his stay at Elland Road by putting pen to paper on a new deal with the club at the beginning of next month.
The 35-year-old was offered a new one-year contract at the end of last season but returned to pre-season training with his team-mates without signing the 12-month agreement.
The former Sheffield United and Tottenham enforcer made 26 appearances for United last season, with the majority of those coming following the arrival of his former Blades boss Warnock as Leeds manager in February.
Brown, who joined the West Yorkshire club from Portsmouth last summer, was an ever-present in Warnock's starting XI until a red card picked up at Easter effectively ended his season.
The manager said: "We've offered Michael another year and I think we'll start that from next month."
