Zola targets move for Abdi
Sky Sports understands Watford are eyeing a move for Udinese midfielder Almen Abdi.
New Watford owner Giampaolo Pozzo has helped set up the deal as he is also the owner of Serie A side Udinese.
Abdi has been identified by Gianfranco Zola and Pozzo is using his connections at Udinese to sanction a move for the 25-year-old.
The Switzerland international joined Udinese from Le Mans in 2010, but he has failed to hold down a regular place in the starting XI.
Abdi, who scored against Celtic in the Europa League last season, made just nine starts in Serie A last term and Udinese could be willing to loan him out so that he gets regular first-team football.
Zola is keen to bolster his squad and he is expected to use his Italian connections to make raids on his homeland for players.
