Sky Sports understands Dutch giants Ajax have made an enquiry for Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Dann.
The Eredivisie champions have enquired about taking Dann on a season-long loan as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season's Champions League campaign.
Ajax are in the market for defensive reinforcements after selling Jan Vertonghen to Tottenham earlier this month and Dann is thought to figure highly on their wanted list of replacements.
Rovers are resigned to losing powerful central defender Dann before the close of the transfer window following their relegation from the Premier League last season.
A host of Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Southampton, are chasing Dann, but Ajax are hoping to steal a march on their Premier League rivals by tabling a firm offer for the 25-year-old.
Blackburn would prefer to sell Dann this summer rather than loan him out so that they can use the funds to strengthen their squad elsewhere, but Ajax are hoping the lure of Champions League football could tempt the player to snub interest from his Premier League suitors to make the move to Amsterdam.
