Sky Sports understands Nathaniel Clyne will seal his move to Southampton in the next 48 hours after deciding that St Mary's is where he wants to be.

Palace defender on his way

Sky Sports understands Nathaniel Clyne will complete his move to Southampton in the next 48 hours after deciding that St Mary's is where he wants to be. Crystal Palace gave the 21-year-old full-back permission to talk with the Saints last week and he travelled to the South Coast. Having held talks and been shown around, Clyne has told his representatives that he wants to move to St Mary's. There was still interest from a number of other Premier League clubs, but Clyne has made his decision and he is due to put pen-to-paper later this week. Southampton are close to sealing personal terms with Clyne, but talks between the two clubs are ongoing. Clyne is out-of-contract at Palace, but he cannot move for free as he is under 23, so the two clubs need to agree a fee - or it could even go to a transfer tribunal.
