Eric Abidal could yet make a remarkable return to football but refuses to be drawn on a date for his comeback, according to his agent. The Barcelona defender recovered fully from surgery to remove a tumour on his liver last summer and featured heavily for the first half of last season. But the France international suffered more problems at the start of 2012 and was forced to undergo a liver transplant in April. Doctors have been impressed with his recovery and, although he is still not allowed to leave his house where he is convalescing, his agent believes his career is not yet over. "The recovery of Eric Abidal is on the right course," David Venditelli told Catalunya Com radio. "But he is unable to fix a concrete date for his return to football. "The doctors say his body is betting better every day and his spirit remains high."
