French striker happy with move

France international Olivier Giroud has admitted he cannot wait to finalise his move to Arsenal, with the deal expected to be completed this week. After his Euro 2012 adventure with France came to an end at the weekend following defeat to Spain, Giroud is now expected in England for a medical with Arsenal. The Gunners made their move for Giroud a few weeks ago but they have had to wait for the player to complete his international commitments before finalising a deal worth around £12million. "I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal - it is something that represents so much for me," Giroud is quoted as saying by the Sun. "I've always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and Arsenal are a great club with many French players." The club's president Louis Nicollin has said that as far as they are concerned the player has gone. "I wish him well," he told Midi Libre. Giroud finished at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts last season along with PSG's Nene, after bagging 21-goals.
