Watford have begun restructuring their hierarchy following their sale to the Pozzo family, by removing two directors from Watford Leisure.

Duo relieved of holding company duties - but stay on with club

Watford have begun restructuring their hierarchy following the club's sale to the Pozzo family, by removing two of their directors from holding company Watford Leisure. The Hornets are currently made up of three groups, Watford Association Football Club Limited, which is the club itself; Watford FC Limited, which was set up by current owner Laurence Bassini to take over the club, and Watford Leisure. David Fransen and Stuart Timperley will remain on the board at the football club - the strongest indication yet that Bassini will continue to operate the other two companies when the takeover is complete. The duo will serve the new owners, who already control Serie A side Udinese and Spanish outfit Granada.

Removal

A statement on the club's official website read: "The Watford Association Football Club Limited ('the club') announces that Mr David Fransen and professor Stuart Timperley have received notification of their removal as directors from the board of Watford Leisure Limited. "Both Mr Fransen and professor Timperley remain and continue as directors of the club."
