Italian giants claim defender is not for sale

AC Milan have insisted that Thiago Silva will not be leaving the San Siro amid reports claiming he is set to join Paris St Germain. French newspaper L'Equipe said the Brazilian defender could be in the capital by the end of the week in a deal worth €45million (£36.3m) - a record for Le Championnat. Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the former Fluminense man, but the Italians insist the 27-year-old will be staying at the club.

Calm

AC Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida told Sky Italia: "Be calm, we will not sell Thiago." Silva has four years to run on his contract with the Serie A side, so any move is likely to be costly. But L'Equipe claim PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti is ready to part with a huge fee to secure his services.
