Watford have released four first-team players because they could not afford to renew their contracts at the club.
Rene Gilmartin, Tom James, Chez Isaac and Michael Bryan have all been told they must look for new clubs when their contracts expire at the end of next month.
Manager Sean Dyche told the club's
official website that the decision was not an indictment on the quartet's performances.
He said: "The harsh realities of football are never far away, and for us it means we simply cannot retain every player on our staff, despite these lads having given everything to the club this year.

"We've valued their contribution throughout this season. They've been part of a group that's always looking to improve.
"I'd like to wish them all well for their future in football".
Meanwhile, Martin Taylor and Stephen McGinn, whose contracts are also due to expire, are currently in talks with the club.
