Hamstring problem to keep full-back out of Old Trafford trip

Everton have announced that Leighton Baines will be forced to sit out their weekend trip to table-topping Manchester United. The Toffees travel to Old Trafford on Saturday looking to respond positively to their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Merseyside rivals Liverpool. They will, however, be forced to cope without the services of their first-choice left-back, as Baines is nursing a hamstring problem. He has been a regular presence in David Moyes' plans this season, making a team-high 41 appearances. Baines recently completed a run of 99 consecutive Premier League games, before being rested for the meeting with Sunderland on Easter Monday. He will now be forced to sit out another fixture, with the Toffees confirming the news on their official website. A statement released by the club read: "The England left-back picked up a hamstring injury during the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley last weekend will be an absentee at Old Trafford."
