Terry Connor was pleased with his Wolves team after picking up a first point in eight games with a 0-0 draw at Sunderland on Saturday.
It was a largely uneventful game that pushes Wolves to the brink of relegation - eight points from safety with just four matches remaining.
But Wolves had the chance to take to win at the Stadium of Light when Steven Fletcher headed too close to Simon Mignolet from close range late on.
And Connor felt a share of the points was the least his team deserved for their spirited efforts.
"I thought we gave a good account of ourselves," said the beleaguered boss, still waiting for his first win after nine games in charge.
"We defended well, without any mistakes. And we created a few chances and should've scored.

"With a little bit of quality we could have nicked one and won the game."
The clean sheet was Wolves' first since August and Connor was keen to give his entire team the credit.
He added: "It will give us a lift. The strikers, wide players and midfielders as well as the goalkeeper and defenders, because it takes a team to keep the ball out.
"The whole team deserves credit for the clean sheet.
"The last four of five games we have deserved more. Today was the culmination of that.
"We kept a clean sheet and with a bit of luck we could've nicked all three."
