Spurs forward confident Holland can challenge for Euro 2012 crown

Rafael van der Vaart considers Holland to be among the favourites for Euro 2012 glory, with a maturing squad ready to turn potential into silverware. Having reached the 2010 World Cup final, Bert van Marwijk's side will arrive in Poland and Ukraine this summer expected to challenge for the top prize. The Dutch squad is brimming with attacking talent and the likes of Van der Vaart, Arjen Robben, Robin van Persie and Wesley Sneijder will pose plenty of problems to opposition defences. Van der Vaart acknowledges that it is time for Holland's leading lights to deliver, with a golden generation determined to avoid being labelled as nearly men. "Holland are among the favourites for the next Euros," the Tottenham playmaker told France Football.

Focused

"We are better than we were two years ago and in 2008, when we thought we were champions after beating France and Italy. "Things have changed. Coach Van Marwijk has done a brilliant job, focusing our minds and concentration levels. "Now we are focused on just one thing - victory. "That doesn't mean that we will give up on our attacking game. This is a generation where the likes of Van Persie, Robben, Sneijder and myself have all matured. "If we are going to win something, it has to be now."
