Rayo Vallecano have confirmed their interest in signing Rangers forward Sone Aluko.
Aluko is out of contract at the end of the season and due to the club's financial problems they are in no position to offer him a new deal.
A number of clubs are thought to be monitoring his situation at Ibrox and Spanish side Vallecano are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by landing the Nigerian.
Rayo claim they have held talks with the player's representatives about a possible move to Spain at the end of the season.
"A Rayo Vallecano official was in Glasgow on Tuesday holding contract talks with Sone Aluko's agent," a spokesperson for the club told STV.
"We believe Aluko has all the qualities to play in La Liga."
