Clint Hill is ready to sacrifice his own Queens Park Rangers future to keep the Hoops in the Premier League.

Out-of-contract defender focused on keeping Rs in Premier League

Clint Hill is ready to sacrifice his own Queens Park Rangers future to keep the Hoops in the Premier League. The defender could be restored to boss Mark Hughes' starting XI against Arsenal on Saturday, with the Welshman likely to reshuffle his backline following a dismal defensive showing at Sunderland last weekend. Hill's contract expires in the summer and the 33-year-old admits he is more likely to get a new deal if the Loftus Road club is relegated to the Championship. But he insists his focus is firmly on retaining Rangers' top-flight status - not his own future.

Chance

"If we stay up I can see the club spending more money and getting in another five or six players," he told the Fulham Chronicle. "I would probably have a better chance of getting a contract if we go down. "I've spent most of my career in the Championship - and know it like the back of my hand. "Everyone is desperate for the club to survive. We've worked so hard to get here and we're doing all we can to stay up."
