Ben Amos admits it is imperative that Manchester United land the Premier League title this season and get their hands on some silverware.
European setbacks have left the Red Devils with just one goal to aim at this term, but it is arguably the biggest prize of all.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side have spent much of the campaign snapping at Manchester City's heels, but have edged themselves to the front of the field over recent weeks and have every intention of staying there.
The plan now is to build on the three-point lead which currently separates them from the chasing pack, with Amos conceding that entering the summer empty-handed does not bare thinking about at this stage.
"Man United are expected to win trophies every season and if we weren't to do that, we couldn't help but think that it hasn't been a successful season," he told Sky Sports at an event hosted by Thomas Cook Sport, official travel partner of Manchester United.
"But we are all very confident, with the games coming up in front of us, that we can make it happen.
"We are in a strong position and we are in front of City.
"Europe was a big disappointment because our past record over the last six years or so has been really good. It's something that we weren't expecting but now we can put our full concentration onto the Premier League."
Pipping City to the post would make title glory all the sweeter for United, with the Red Devils in no mood to surrender their top flight crown and standing as Manchester's leading light.
"Any Premier League title is brilliant, but this year we have been behind for quite a lot of the season and with it being City, our big rivals, as a Manchester United fan I couldn't think of anything worse than losing the title to them," said Amos.
"The team are doing everything in their power to make sure it stays with us."
United's vast experience of securing major silverware is expected to play into their hands heading down the final stretch, with Amos hoping some wise old heads can help to see the Red Devils over the line.
"We have still got the senior players like Giggsy and Scholesy that have been there before," he said.
"Mixed with that we have got the younger lads, so we are looking to the older lads for direction because they have been there before. Hopefully that will give us the advantage."
