Midfielder would welcome Dutch ace back at PSV

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman hopes AC Milan ace Mark van Bommel will return to the club in the summer. Netherlands international Van Bommel has long been linked with an emotional homecoming to Eindhoven, where he spent six seasons between 1999 and 2005. PSV have made it clear they would welcome him back to the club with open arms, while the 34-year-old has said he would be keen on re-signing with the Dutch giants before he hangs up his boots. Van Bommel is out of contract at Milan in the summer, but has not ruled out extending his contract for another year. Young PSV star Strootman has played alongside the Dutchman in the Netherlands national team and is keen to revive that midfield partnership in the Eredivisie. "Of course I hope he comes, he would make us better," Strootman told NUSport. "He's someone who, as a younger player, you look up to. I want to be as good as him, but who wouldn't want to be?"
