Rovers insist payment was made to Dundee United

Blackburn have issued a statement to deny they have missed a payment due to Dundee United for striker David Goodwillie. Reports had suggested that Blackburn had failed to pay a slice of the transfer fee due from Goodwillie's move to Ewood Park last summer. However, Rovers have revealed they paid the instalment in full on Monday. A statement on the club's official website read: "Further to press speculation regarding the supposed non-payment of an instalment for the transfer of David Goodwillie from Dundee United, Blackburn Rovers Football Club would like to put the record straight. "The club can confirm that it paid all the monies (in accordance with regulations) to the FA on Monday and we are surprised to find this story in the media today." Goodwillie has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Rovers this season, scoring four goals to date.
