Defender feels United were complacent against Ajax

Phil Jones conceded Manchester United were 'nowhere near' good enough in the second half of their 2-1 home defeat by Ajax in the Europa League. United took a 2-0 lead into the second leg of their last-32 encounter and appeared to claim an even firmer grip on the tie when Javier Hernandez scored after just six minutes. However, Aras Ozbiliz pulled a goal back before half-time and Toby Alderweireld's header with three minutes to go set up a nervy finale at Old Trafford. The Red Devils hung on to book a last-16 meeting with Athletic Bilbao, but defender Jones acknowledged the Premier League champions were below par. "I don't think we were at our best tonight," said the England international. "We got off to a great start, scored and seemed to be in control of the game. "But a little bit of complacency set in. We should have won the game and we will review our performance tomorrow and take it from there. "The manager said at half-time we've got to up the tempo and we didn't do that for whatever reasons. We weren't good enough in the second half, nowhere near. "We've lost the game tonight and we're bitterly disappointed."
