Veteran striker backed to aid Gunners in San Siro if needed

Arsene Wenger has praised Thierry Henry and admits he may use the French striker in Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League clash with AC Milan. Arsenal's all-time top-scorer has proved a hit in his loan spell back with the Gunners, notching three goals in six appearances, including the winner against Sunderland in the last Premier League outing of his stay. Wenger says the 34-year-old will be missed when he heads back to play for New York Red Bulls in the MLS later this week, believing he has made an impact. The Arsenal boss told Sky Sports News: "We are all very sad to see him going and we didn't expect him to be so important for us when he signed.

Much sharper

"But he grew into the team very quickly and, of course, his talent on the pitch. He's still much sharper than I expected him to be after having been out in the States. "I'm quite surprised because I expected him to have more health problems. He day he left top level European football because he was a bit concerned with his knee problems or tendons, but he's in very good shape." As regards the former Juventus player pulling off another fairytale and scoring in the San Siro, Wenger replied: "He can do it again, especially on a territory where he will be highly motivated because that's where he started his international career in Italy, so I believe if needed, he can help us."
