Toffees loanee reflects on a dream return to Goodison Park

Everton loan star Steven Pienaar admits he could not have wished for his Goodison Park return to have gone any better. Having rejoined the Toffees during the winter transfer window, on a deal from Tottenham that is set to run until the end of the season, the South African made his second Merseyside bow on Saturday - with his debut having come on the road at Wigan. His first home game since heading back to Everton saw him net the opening goal in a richly deserved 2-0 victory over out-of-sorts Chelsea. Pienaar is delighted to have slipped back into the fold so quickly and has thanked the Toffees support for welcoming him back with open arms. "It is always great to play at Goodison and I had a warm welcome from the supporters," he told the club's official website. "I was a bit nervous but as soon as I got the goal I was more relaxed and it is a great result for the team.

Terrific

"The feeling is unbelievable. It's my first goal for almost a year in the Premier League so I was going wild and it means a lot to the supporters to score a goal against Chelsea. "The supporters were terrific last time I was here and the reception before the game was unbelievable." Pienaar will be cup-tied for an FA Cup fifth round clash with Blackpool next week, but he is hoping that those selected by David Moyes can build on the Chelsea success. "We just have to take it game by game," he said. "The result was magnificent but next week the FA Cup is coming up and that's what we will be looking to. "The result lifts the confidence of the players and we have to keep on winning now."
