Defender is positive about his second loan move of the season

Scunthorpe's new loan signing Christian Ribeiro is relishing the next two months after joining from Bristol City. The Wales international will remain with the Iron until March 18 after finding first-team opportunities at Ashton Gate hard to come by. The 22-year-old enjoyed a similar spell at Carlisle recently, making seven appearances for the Cumbrians. Despite dropping down from the Championship, the versatile defender remains positive and says he is keen to help his new club climb the table following a frustrating season to date.

Complimentary

"The manager has been very complimentary and I'm looking forward to playing first-team games again and the two months ahead here," he told Sky Sports. "I don't want to waste any more of the season that I already have, so I'm here for the next two months and hopefully I can rack up another ten or so games. "I think that we've got the likes of Stevenage, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, so there are some tough games ahead and even the mid-table clashes aren't as easy as they look. "Any game in any league is difficult, but let's hope that we can enjoy our football and start climbing the table because there are some good players here that were playing at Championship level both last season and the year before, so there's no reason why they should be languishing where they are. "If we can play well in the next few weeks and start generating some confidence it will bode well for the rest of the season."
