Manager McCoist not willing to sell midfielder

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has confirmed the club have rejected two bids for midfielder Maurice Edu. French side Sochaux are thought to have made the two previous offers and could return with another. However, McCoist insists that they are not interested in selling the USA international. "There have been two bids," he said. "The second bid we received on Thursday and, thankfully, we declined. "As far as I'm concerned it's over. They haven't come back from the second offer.

Settled

"I spoke to Maurice yesterday and he is in fine form, he's settled and he's happy. And we are very happy to have him. "Maurice has become a very important part of the team and the squad. "He has been an integral part of the success in recent years and, from my point of view, we like to keep those players." Meanwhile, Gers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been ruled out of Saturday's Scottish Premier League game against St Johnstone with a thigh problem. Neil Alexander is likely to deputise in what will be his first SPL appearance of the season, with third-choice goalkeeper Scott Gallacher named on the bench.
