Paris St Germain's sporting director Leonardo claims to be 'optimistic' regarding the club's chances of landing AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato.
The Ligue 1 table-toppers spent big last summer and there is every indication that they plan to do the same in the winter transfer window.
With the backing of ambitious and wealthy Qatari owners, PSG find themselves in a position to bid for the cream of Europe's footballing talent.
Pato is among those to be on their radar, with AC Milan willing to move a forward out in order to make room for the possible arrival of Carlos Tevez.
Negotiations
PSG saw their opening offer for the Samba star knocked back by the Rossoneri but are reported to have struck a deal at €28million (£23.2m), with €7million (£5.8m) of add-ons.
Leonardo does not expect all of the relevant paperwork to have been completed by the time PSG play host to Toulouse on Saturday, but he is confident a deal will be pushed through.
"I'm optimistic, but I don't think the negotiations will be finalised by the weekend," he said.
Reports in Italy claim there is a three-year contract waiting for Pato at Parc des Princes.
