Hull City boss Nick Barmby admits he will be "gutted" if any of his prized assets are sold during the January transfer window.
And the caretaker manager hinted the departure of the Championship club's key men could affect his own future.
Promotion-chasing Hull are braced for a number of enquiries when the transfer window opens next week.
Stars including James Chester, Cameron Stewart and Robert Koren have all been the subject of reported interest in recent weeks.

Barmby said: "I'd be gutted if we were to lose any players.
"You can't stop clubs bidding for your players and that's a sign that your players are doing well.
"Fair enough if it's a top-eight club in the Premier League, we can't do anything about it and good luck to them. But they've really got to think about their education.
"I've seen players move too early from clubs where they should be playing 50 to 100 games to gain the right experience."
Ambitions
Barmby met with owner Assem Allam and head of football operations Adam Pearson last week to discuss the club's transfer strategy ahead of the transfer window.
And the 37-year-old admits he is keen to see his ambitions tally with those of the City board.
"That was one of the things we spoke about," he told the
Hull Daily Mail.
"It comes into the equation because we've got a team here that can go on if they keep believing in themselves.
"We can become whatever we want as a team so we'd be disappointed if we lost any of our players."
