Dutch club agree to terminate Canadian midfielder's contract

Midfielder Jacob Lensky has departed FC Utrecht after reaching an agreement with the Eredivisie club over a contract termination. The 23-year-old had six months remaining on his Utrecht deal but has returned to his native Canada due to personal issues, having struggled with an alcohol problem for some time. Lensky previously played in the Netherlands with Feyenoord but quit the club in 2008 before returning to the Eredivisie with Utrecht a year later. The midfielder, who also holds a Czech Republic passport and has represented them at Under 21 level, made just three appearances this season, all of which came back in August. A statement on Utrecht's official website read: "FC Utrecht wish Jacob every success in the future and thank him for the time he spent playing at the club."
