Tom Cleverley recognises the loss of midfielder Darren Fletcher is another setback for Manchester United.
The Scotland captain has been forced to take an 'extended break' from football due to a chronic inflammatory bowel condition.
Fletcher's absence is another setback for manager Sir Alex Ferguson, especially in the wake of the humiliating eliminations from the Carling Cup and UEFA Champions League.
But Cleverley, who is himself recovering from an ankle ligament injury, thinks the likes of Ryan Giggs, Ji-Sung Park, Michael Carrick, Phil Jones and Darron Gibson can fill the void.
"I am gutted for Fletch'," the midfielder told
Sky Sports News. "I'm not too sure about what it is, but I'm afraid it is bad news for him and bad news for the team.

"He is a massive player for us and it is a shame, because we are having a bit of a problem in centre-midfield.
"But we have got Giggsy, Ji, Carrick, Phil Jones doing a job, and Darron Gibson still in the squad. So that's what squads are for."
Cleverley was also full of praise for Fletcher, who has been restricted to just 10 appearances for United this season.
"He is a fantastic pro," said the 22-year-old. "Growing up through the ranks, he is someone that has done the same journey that I have.
"So he is someone I have always looked up to."
