West Brom and Wigan keen on Forest defender

Skysports.com understands West Brom and Wigan are lining up moves for Nottingham Forest captain Luke Chambers. Chambers is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree a new deal at the City Ground. The news has alerted a host of clubs to Chambers' possible availability, with the centre-half regarded as one of the best players outside the Premier League. West Brom and Wigan are both admirers and they could test Forest's resolve to hang onto the 26-year-old with bids when the transfer window opens next month. Latics boss Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster his rearguard as he looks to steer his side clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table. And West Brom manager Roy Hodgson has made a new defender one of his top priorities in the January transfer window.
