Liverpool boss delighted with side's attitude and the commitment

Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool deserved to win after the Reds came from behind to draw with league leaders Manchester City at Anfield. The home side equalised Vincent Kompany's 31st minute opener within two minutes when Charlie Adam's shot took a huge deflection off Joleon Lescott to leave City goalkeeper Joe Hart completely wrong-footed. After City substitute Mario Balotelli was sent off for two yellow cards, Hart pulled off a fantastic double save from Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in injury time to deny the Liverpool victory. Dalglish told Sky Sports 1: "They started better than us but once we got into it, I thought we ran out the better team at the end.

Attitude

"I think also it was fortunate for us that we got the equaliser as quickly as we did, it kept the spirits up but you could see the change in attitude when we lost the goal that they wanted to go and get something back. "You could see their attitude in the second half, they were determined they weren't going to lose it and they tried their very best to try and win it. Unfortunately we just couldn't get it over the line." He added: "I think the attitude and the commitment has been superb almost every day since I've come in. "It's not a surprise but also, it shouldn't be taken for granted, they worked really hard. "I think that it's a team that's in its infancy a little bit as well, we've had three or four new-boys coming in - this is Andy's (Carroll's) real first season as well - so they're getting to know each other better and they're playing better and they've got a fantastic attitude and approach to the game and if they continue that and they continue working hard, then they'll get a bit of luck there again. "The performance was fantastic but I don't think they got what they fully deserved - I think they deserved the three points and we could quite easily have got it but we never. "But we won't be feeling sorry for ourselves, we'll just brush ourselves down and get on with it and see what happens next."
