Boca - Tevez too expensive

Boca Juniors president Jorge Amor Ameal insists that Carlos Tevez remains too expensive for them to sign.

Former club say they will not be making bid

Boca Juniors president Jorge Amor Ameal insists that Carlos Tevez remains too expensive for them to sign. Tevez was back in his native Argentina last week, which prompted fresh suggestions that Boca could offer him a route out of Manchester City. However, although Ameal admits to have had contact with Tevez - who was a legend during his three-year stint at La Bombanera, he admits they could not afford a deal for the striker. Another of his former clubs Corinthians remain interested, but Boca admit they will not be joining the bidding. "Carlos is deservedly a very important figure here," Ameal told local radio. "But from the economic point it is impossible. "I did talk to him, and I lent him our support."

AWOL

Tevez's return to Argentina meant he was AWOL, as he was due to report for training with City. City are now expecting him back on Monday for a fresh disciplinary hearing following his trip back to South America. The Argentine has not played for City since the now 'infamous' Champions League game at Bayern Munich - which result in a misconduct charge following a lengthy internal investigation. He was also fined two-weeks wages and has been forced to train away from the first-team ever since. Despite the ongoing problems, he is still being strongly linked with a move and fresh speculation in Italy claims that AC Milan could renew their interest as they are without Antonio Cassano for an indefinite time after he underwent heart surgery. AC's city rivals Inter Milan also look set to compete for his signature.
