Striker out for at least a month

Palermo striker Abel Hernandez is set to be sidelined for at least a month after suffering a thigh injury. The Uruguay international picked up the problem during Sunday's 3-1 triumph over Bologna, and Palermo immediately sent him for a scan. The extent of the damage has now been confirmed and it will take between 30 and 40 days for Hernandez to regain fitness. The 21-year-old's injury is a setback for Palermo coach Devis Mangia, whose team take on Juventus and Fiorentina in the next few weeks. Hernandez is Palermo's joint top scorer alongside captain Fabrizio Miccoli, with three goals in nine Serie A appearances.
